How we support animal homes
While animal homes all over Switzerland fight for their existence and invest much effort in the care of their homeless animals each day, it can happen that an animal home’s important everyday tasks are left undone.
The SUST supports animal homes when they reach their limits. It is part of the SUST experts’ daily work to carry out campaign days in animal homes, on which various teams do work that has been due for a long time. This can include renovating or completing the infrastructure, coordinating the construction work (and paying for these expenses), reorganising the animal home’s workflow, as well as delivering animal feed, animal home utensils and construction material to animal homes all over Switzerland.
In dialogue with the people heading animal homes, experts restructure the facilities, give advice regarding the construction and management of animal protection projects and organise seminars. In many cases, the SUST provides direct assistance without a third party being involved. The SUST sets up worst-case scenarios and back-up plans in no time at all, sends experts and carries out disaster relief. In emergencies, the SUST provides quick, unbureaucratic and confidential help. The Susy Utzinger Animal Protection Trust helps whenever an animal shelter needs it.
