Help animals

The activities of SUST

All over the world, countless animals in overcrowded shelters live sadly or struggle for their survival in wild colonies. Day after day, even today, animals that have become inconvenient are still abandoned, deported or mistakenly kept for lack of better knowledge. The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation contributes with effective means to the fact that animal suffering can be reduced or even prevented sustainably.

This animal welfare work is based on four pillars:

1. Competence Centre Animal Shelter: Animal shelters become high-quality transition stations for homeless animals, where animals are kept and promoted in a way that is appropriate for their species and finally transferred to good new places.

2. Neutering campaigns: Braking the animal misery

3. Education and training of specialists: Specialists are given the opportunity to optimise their knowledge and improve animal welfare.

4. Education of the population: love of animals with heart and mind

These four elements form the important basis for sustainable animal welfare projects.

Those animals that are not yet able to benefit from the effects of this reconstruction work and have been born into a world where they are not wanted need the emergency aid of SUST.

Animal welfare work is also urgently needed in Switzerland

March 2022

The war-torn people and animals in Ukraine are currently experiencing a huge wave of solidarity. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of this wonderful movement and that together with many Swiss animal friends we can at least somewhat alleviate the indescribably great misery.
Regardless of the dramatic situation in Ukraine, the mating season for cats has also begun in Switzerland with the arrival of spring. Many of our partner organizations and animal protectors are currently preparing for the flood of unintentionally born kittens that will inevitably come this year as well - despite increasing neutering figures. Kittens that are born hidden in a barn somewhere and only have a chance of being placed if they are discovered and caught in time. Besides a lot of patience and time, these kittens of course also need a lot of food to develop healthily.
At the moment our cat food store is very low and there is no supply in sight. Considering the current world situation, we almost don't dare to ask. But if someone still has cat food that he no longer needs, we would be very happy about it.

We are looking for to pass on to our CH partner animal shelters / animal protectors:
- Wet food for kittens and adult cats in bags, bowls, tins etc.
- Dry food for kittens and adult cats in bags, boxes etc.
- Special/medical food for cats
- Kitten milk powder

For hygienic reasons we can unfortunately only accept sealed boxes/bags whose expiration date is not more than 6 months past, thank you for your understanding!
