Help animals

The activities of SUST

All over the world, countless animals in overcrowded shelters live sadly or struggle for their survival in wild colonies. Day after day, even today, animals that have become inconvenient are still abandoned, deported or mistakenly kept for lack of better knowledge. The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation contributes with effective means to the fact that animal suffering can be reduced or even prevented sustainably.

This animal welfare work is based on four pillars:

1. Competence Centre Animal Shelter: Animal shelters become high-quality transition stations for homeless animals, where animals are kept and promoted in a way that is appropriate for their species and finally transferred to good new places.

2. Neutering campaigns: Braking the animal misery

3. Education and training of specialists: Specialists are given the opportunity to optimise their knowledge and improve animal welfare.

4. Education of the population: love of animals with heart and mind

These four elements form the important basis for sustainable animal welfare projects.

Those animals that are not yet able to benefit from the effects of this reconstruction work and have been born into a world where they are not wanted need the emergency aid of SUST.

SUST supports livestock rescue through the GTRD

The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation finances the campaign "Even farm animals have earned professional rescue" of the GTRD (Large Animal Rescue Service).

Although it was considered to be completely tame, a cow did not want to return to its stable and was not persuaded to return by its mother or the leading cow. She broke through all the fences and finally had to be anaesthetised by the large animal rescue service and transported home.

The extremely grateful farmer's wife then sent us the following lines, which we were very happy about:

Dear team of the foundation

A few weeks ago Ruedi Keller from the large animal rescue service and his colleague Celine helped us to catch a cow with a stun gun. We appreciated her patience and her actions very much, so that nobody came to harm.

The biggest surprise, however, came today, when we received the bill for the operation, indicating that most of it was carried by you. We did not expect this at all and thank you very much for it.

In a good month's time, I will be celebrating a round birthday, setting up a donation box and drawing attention to the Foundation.

Many thanks
R. and M. S. from F.
