Help animals

The activities of SUST

All over the world, countless animals in overcrowded shelters live sadly or struggle for their survival in wild colonies. Day after day, even today, animals that have become inconvenient are still abandoned, deported or mistakenly kept for lack of better knowledge. The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation contributes with effective means to the fact that animal suffering can be reduced or even prevented sustainably.

This animal welfare work is based on four pillars:

1. Competence Centre Animal Shelter: Animal shelters become high-quality transition stations for homeless animals, where animals are kept and promoted in a way that is appropriate for their species and finally transferred to good new places.

2. Neutering campaigns: Braking the animal misery

3. Education and training of specialists: Specialists are given the opportunity to optimise their knowledge and improve animal welfare.

4. Education of the population: love of animals with heart and mind

These four elements form the important basis for sustainable animal welfare projects.

Those animals that are not yet able to benefit from the effects of this reconstruction work and have been born into a world where they are not wanted need the emergency aid of SUST.

The generator has arrived at the Lightshell Shelter in Odessa (UA)....

February 2023

What travels long finally arrives.
The generator that will provide the animals from the Lightshell Shelter in Odessa (UA) with the continuous power supply they need to survive has finally arrived. If he could, he would surely write a thick book about his exciting journey.
Or in the words of Alina from the shelter, "It's amazing that even a generator has its own destiny."
She continues, "It is very reliable and will withstand the load of our shelter. We will now connect everything properly with an electrician. Thank you so much and big hugs! You have no idea what a great help and joy this is!"
The help Alina writes about was currently just for the two seniors in the photo. Both older, abandoned animals, with such severe dental and eye problems that they could not eat without help, or pain. They were immediately treated at the Lightshell Shelter - and - as soon as the appropriate medication was available - treated against parasites.
We are always touched by how humans and animals make the best of their situations and tackle what is possible.
This generator may be a simple, loud (even if it says "silent") tin box, but it brings a lot of hope, help and confidence!
Thank you for making this hope possible!
