Also the wildcat station presents itself at the animal protection market:
"We are pleased to participate in the animal protection market and to celebrate the anniversary of the Susy Utzinger Foundation, with which we have long-standing contacts.
We will give information about our work, offer beautiful cups with wildcat sujets as well as fine homemade organic biscuits in cat form".
The work of the wildcat station:
"For almost 30 years, the Wildcat Station has been working for the species-appropriate keeping of wild cats in enclosures. For this purpose, we have developed a species-appropriate keeping system for European wild cats in our station, in which the animals do not develop behavioural disorders and show their natural behaviour.
More than 100 animals from our cattery could be set free within the reintroduction in Bavaria and thus contributed to the preservation of this species in the wild.
Since almost all wild cat species are endangered, breeding in enclosures and reintroduction is becoming more and more important. This requires a detailed knowledge of the species-specific needs and the handling by animal keepers of these highly sensitive animals. The Wildcat Station uses this knowledge to support zoos, animal parks and reintroduction projects throughout Europe"
