Victims of misconceived animal love: 58 cats were kept as pets by a woman in her dilapidated house without electricity. The cats were barely fed, lived in faeces and urine, fell ill and of course were not spayed. The SUST financed an immediate emergency food supply as well as the spaying and the treatment of the sick cats. Two SUST partner animal shelters have already taken in some of these cats and will place them. For the cats who still have to remain in the rundown house, the situation was made as pleasant as possible: The rooms have been cleaned and disinfected, the cats are being fed daily and thanks to a material supply of the Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation they can now also sleep in clean beds and eat from clean bowls.
