Help animals

The activities of SUST

All over the world, countless animals in overcrowded shelters live sadly or struggle for their survival in wild colonies. Day after day, even today, animals that have become inconvenient are still abandoned, deported or mistakenly kept for lack of better knowledge. The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation contributes with effective means to the fact that animal suffering can be reduced or even prevented sustainably.

This animal welfare work is based on four pillars:

1. Competence Centre Animal Shelter: Animal shelters become high-quality transition stations for homeless animals, where animals are kept and promoted in a way that is appropriate for their species and finally transferred to good new places.

2. Neutering campaigns: Braking the animal misery

3. Education and training of specialists: Specialists are given the opportunity to optimise their knowledge and improve animal welfare.

4. Education of the population: love of animals with heart and mind

These four elements form the important basis for sustainable animal welfare projects.

Those animals that are not yet able to benefit from the effects of this reconstruction work and have been born into a world where they are not wanted need the emergency aid of SUST.

Helping makes Happy!

June 2023

In the true sense of the word! Happy's story begins very sadly, the only about 6 months old bitch lay probably some hours exhausted, starved, with bite wounds and full of ticks in front of the "Snagov Palace", a noble congress center in Bucharest, Romania.
Dead tissue was already hanging out of her belly - her whole skin was yellowish, her eyes were glued shut. But everyone just walked past her.
Fortunately, a passerby knew that our SUST-OAH in Bucharest is exactly the right address for such cases and brought Happy to the SUST Ophan Animal Hospital.
We immediately treated Happy with anti-parasitics, tested her for all kinds of diseases, and finally manually removed hundreds of ticks so that she was stable enough for us to operate on - and neuter her at the same time.
And then the magic happened....
Within 5 days, Happy recovered on the double!
A completely different animal emerged. Social, playful, alert and cuddly. The entire OAH team is in love with shock. A few days ago we "declared" Happy as fully recovered.
Happy and we thank you so much times for the help!
Happy got her chance only:
- because you make the SUST-OAH's possible with your donations
- because you also make possible with your donations that we can inform about it in the population
   can inform the population
- because this man knew about our offer and knows that animals in need deserve help!
   deserve help!
Most animals in their condition die unseen, alone and in agony.
Especially at this time of year (tick season), so many animals die unnecessarily from tick-borne diseases because there is no prophylaxis.
