Competence Centre Animal Shelter

Animal shelters become high-quality transition stations for homeless animals, where animals are kept and promoted in a way that is appropriate for theis species and finally transferred to good new places. Ins Switzerland as well as worldwide.

The Susy Utzinger animal welfare foundation supports and carries out neutering projects in various countries on an ongoing basis. In this way, the suffering of animals is slowed down, slowly but steadily and sustainably.

How animal lifes are saved

The Susy Utzinger animal welfare foundation offers immediate help through animal rescue campaigns, first aid and veterinary operations and through the orphan animal hospitals: Where injured, sick and abandoned strays find shelter and receive urgently needed veterinary care and medical care.

Horse material deliveries in Romania

Also this winter our teams in Romania give away free horse blankets and other utensils to impoverished horse owners.

The work with horses and donkeys is widespread in Romania. Especially the poor population uses the "aid" horse to earn their living. These horses work hard and receive little care. Many of them spend the winter in draughty huts (see picture). The distribution of horse blankets for the coldest season as well as education helps a lot.

We also distribute our children's booklet on how to handle working horses and donkeys in such areas. In addition, we are again planning outreach weeks with Romanian farriers on site.
