Animal welfare through information

NOW: Pets in autumn: Care can save lives!

Autumn is here and with it often unexpected dangers for pets. Suddenly the weather changes and so do everyday habits.

Simple winter preparations such as the filling of antifreeze require certain knowledge on the part of pet owners. The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation provides up-to-date information where special care is required.

Watch out car drivers! Low temperatures can tempt cats to seek shelter in engine compartments and wheel arches. Knocking on the bonnet before continuing warns sleeping velvet paws of the imminent danger.

The taking of antifreeze is just as life-threatening for curious cats: If the car is prepared for the winter and antifreeze is spilled thereby, many cats feel magically attracted by it - the highly poisonous liquid seems to taste to them excellently. Therefore any puddles must always be removed!
