1. postpone the longer walks to the morning and evening hours
2. allow your dog to cool down in a body of water in between (do not exaggerate, otherwise you risk water poisoning!)
3. carry drinking water with you on particularly hot days, so that your dog does not drink from puddles (danger of leptospirosis!)
4. longer bicycle tours are taboo in summer temperatures! (as long as your dog does not ride in a bicycle basket)
5. remember that hot asphalt is painful for your dog's paws and can lead to burns! If it feels hot to your skin, it is hot to his.
6. never leave your dog waiting in the car when the sun is shining! Acute danger to life exists already from 15 degrees outside temperature! Even slightly opened windows cannot provide sufficient cooling inside the car.
