This is how Gelus came to us to the SUST Animal Orphans Hospital: When we had our last castration campaign in summer, he literally threw himself in front of our volunteer car, hoping the driver was an animal lover. You couldn't have chosen a worse place to abandon him - in the middle of the territory of many territorial dogs who attacked him quite violently. His whole body was covered with bite wounds, some old and infected, others still bleeding.
That was him then and that is him now. A great transformation that makes us proud and motivates us to continue our work at the Orphan Animal Hospital in Galati, Romania, where so many street animals need our help.
The Susy Utzinger Animal Welfare Foundation finances veterinary costs, clinic equipment, medicines, operations, therapies, food and care in the five animal orphan hospitals.
