On many company premises in Romania street dogs are fed. When these companies stop their activities, the employees leave the area and do not feed the street dogs anymore, a hard fight for survival begins for these animals.
Our Susy Utzinger Foundation for Animal Welfare (SUST) employee Lilu Gal takes care of some of these groups on a daily basis: she has captured all the animals individually, castrated them in our animal orphan hospital and treated them. This is important because new street dogs are born all the time and the groups of unwanted animals are getting bigger and bigger. Dog diseases and parasites are rampant here.
Lilu now feeds the dogs daily. On dry days she also brings water and special food for some special cases. The SUST finances these feeding stations.
At the moment 31 dogs are cared for in 4 different places. We are in the process of setting up further feeding stations.
